THE 1-1 draw at Chesterfield was a proper cup tie and it made a nice change to be the underdogs.

Since joining the club, we have always been seen as the favourites and the team everyone wants to beat, but this was different and it was a fantastic occasion for everyone associated with Billericay Town.

We were hanging on at the end of the game, but we deserved the draw and our supporters were great.

I’m sure they came away feeling pretty well rewarded after making the trip.

I think we probably gave them a little bit too much respect and they got their goal from a set piece.

But then we played a bit more football and looked the bigger threat from the 20th minute through to the hour mark.

Mo (Moses Emmanuel) scored a fantastic goal and he has been in great form in the FA Cup. There’s a reason why he is the top goalscorer in the competition and it’s great in the car school at the moment.

Adam Coombes, Mo and I travel to games together and it was good last season because I was scoring a lot of goals and I was taking a lot of matchballs home. But it’s nice to now have someone else who is regularly scoring goals and having even more matchballs in the car.

Chesterfield boss Martin Allen said we are now the favourites in the replay, but I don’t think you will ever find a bookies that has a team in a lower division as the favourites. That is all mind games.

They won’t be looking forward to coming to the AGP Arena, but it all comes down to who performs on the night and what happens on the pitch.

I saw that I got some stick on the BBC for my free-kick that went high and wide towards the end of the first half.

Over the last year-and-a-half I have not had stick because I have been scoring goals, so it did make me smile and laugh a bit.

I think I will leave free-kicks in those positions to the more creative players now because it was probably the worst shot I’ve ever taken!
