BOWERS & Pitsea boss Rob Small believes tonight’s Essex Senior Cup tie against Romford represents a good opportunity to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.
Having beaten Brightlingsea Regent at the Len Salmon Stadium in the last round, Bowers will enjoy home advantage once again when they take on Isthmian North rivals Romford in the fourth round clash.
And both sides will be looking to extend their run in the competition by coming out on top.
Small said: “It’s a great opportunity for both sides to progress to the quarter-finals and both sides would like to get through.
“Who knows what can happen in the quarter-finals?
“We will not disrespect the competition, but we will use this opportunity to get players that we consider first team players who are not getting minutes at the moment onto the pitch.
“Losing 3-0 to Brentwood Town on Saturday was disappointing for us and I’ll be hoping for a better performance.
“They arguably played to the best of their ability on the day and that didn’t allow us to play to the best of our ability.
“I’m relieved that we have a game tonight and we don’t have to wait until Saturday to get the chance to bounce back.”
