GARRY Kimble wants to see his Great Wakering Rovers side build on last weekend’s fine win over Heybridge Swifts by beating Soham Town Rangers tomorrow.

Wakering were among the favourites to suffer relegation from the Isthmian North this term, following their Essex Senior League title win, but a 3-2 win over Heybridge allowed the newly-promoted club to move up to 11th place in the standings.

And Kimble insisted it is important to build on the victory by also claiming three points away to struggling Soham.

Kimble, who admitted Simon Glover is doubtful to feature due to a hamstring problem, said: “It was a great win for us because Heybridge are the best attacking side we have come up against this season.

“But we can’t be complacent when we go to Soham because they are a good side and have only been losing by the odd goal.

“We have got to have the same attitude, application and desire against Soham as we did against Heybridge.

“But Soham is the kind of place where we need to go and win if we want to achieve anything this season.

“We need to make sure that last weekend’s win wasn’t for nothing and it would be nice to go on a winning run.

“We were one of the favourites to go down this season but we’re showing that we aren’t a bad side and teams are taking notice.”
