BILLERICAY Town face a tough test when they play an in-form Eastbourne Borough tomorrow.
Eastbourne will welcome Town to East Sussex having enjoyed three wins on the bounce.
And Billericay boss Dean Brennan has called on his side to remain solid at the back.
“Clean sheets win titles and we have not been keeping enough clean sheets,” said Brennan, whose side will welcome Southend United to the AGP Arena in the quarter-finals of the Essex Senior Cup after registering a thumping 8-1 win over Saffron Walden Town in midweek.
“Eastbourne have won three consecutive games after winning the last two National League South games and winning in their county cup in midweek, so they will be full of confidence.
“We haven’t won either of our last two National League South games and it will be a difficult test for us.
“We’ve got some difficult away games coming up but we are relishing the challenge and these are the games you want to be involved in.
“All good teams have to pass these kinds of tests, so it’s up to us to show whether we can pass this test.
“Our game management has to improve and we have to be solid at the back because they have some good players, like Dean Cox and Sergio Torres.”
And Brennan also wants his players to use the artificial surface to their advantage.
“It’s an artificial pitch there and hopefully we’ll be able to put some nice passing moves together, but they play some nice football as well,” added Brennan.
