ROB Small is hoping to have the returning Fahad Nyanja available when Soham Town Rangers visit Bowers & Pitsea tomorrow.

Nyanja has moved back to the Len Salmon Stadium just a matter of months after departing for local rivals Basildon United.

And Bowers boss Small is pleased to have the former fans’ favourite back at the club.

“We’re hoping that we can have Fahad registered in time to play against Soham,” said Small.

“We never wanted him to leave the club but he made the decision to pursue a new opportunity at Basildon.

“For one reason or another it hasn’t worked out for him there and we have welcomed Fahad back with open arms.

“I kept my eye on how he was doing at Basildon and we put in a seven-day approach for him.

“Basildon were great in allowing us to talk to him and we’re really pleased that he is back with us.”

Bowers be looking to succeed where two of their local rivals have failed in recent weeks.

Soham, who are 18th in the Isthmian North standings and have only picked up four wins all season, triumphed against Great Wakering Rovers and Canvey Island in consecutive fixtures.

And although Bowers are currently at the division’s summit, Small is aware that Soham will be tough to beat this weekend.

“It will be nice to be back at the Len Salmon Stadium playing in front of our own fans because three of our last four games have been away,” added the Bowers chief.

“Soham are a good side and they are aggressive as well.

“They are energetic without the ball and have a good team spirit.

“There is some good quality in their squad and there are no easy games in the division.

“We will not underestimate Soham and it would be great to make it three wins in a row after winning at Barking and Dereham Town.

“Dereham is never an easy place to go and to pick up maximum points there and at Barking after our small dip in form was great.”
