EAST Thurrock United will welcome Billericay Town or Southend United to Rookery Hill in the semi-finals of the Essex Senior Cup.

Rocks booked their place in the final four of the competition by claiming a 1-0 win over Bowers & Pitsea on Tuesday night.

Shaun Batt scored what proved to be the only goal of the contest at the Len Salmon Stadium.

And East Thurrock's reward for reaching the semi-finals is a home tie against the winners of the tie between Billericay and Southend.

Dean Brennan's Billericay will take on Blues' youngsters - who have registered consecutive comeback 5-2 wins to reach the quarter-finals - at the AGP Arena on Tuesday.

Town are looking to defend their crown after defeating rivals Chelmsford City in the final, which was held at Colchester United's JobServe Community Stadium, last term.

Billericay defeated the Shrimpers en route to picking up the silverware and they will be looking for a similar result in front of their home fans.

But Blues have already eliminated Harlow Town and Waltham Abbey from the competition and they will be aiming to continue their fine run of form in the competition.

Chelmsford City, who defeated East Thurrock in the final two years ago, will welcome Isthmian Premier League outfit AFC Hornchurch to the Melbourne Community Stadium in the other semi-final.

The semi-final ties will take place on or before February 9 ahead of April's final, which will be held at Colchester's JobServe Community Stadium once again.
