SAMMY Moore remains confident that Concord Rangers can seal a National League South play-off place.

The Beach Boys make the long trip to Gloucester City tonight, with the club looking to extend their fine run of form.

Gloucester are just four points above the relegation zone and Moore is eager to see his side condemn the hosts to a sixth home defeat of the season.

The Concord player-manager said: “We have suffered only one loss in 15 and are seven unbeaten, so we have got to go there to win.

“We have got to commit bodies forward and make it difficult for them.

“They will sit in and make it difficult for us to play through the lines but we have got to find a way of winning a game of football.

“If we win, we put ourselves in a great position ahead of our home games and we have only lost once at the Aspect Arena all season.

“I’m happy with the squad. We’ve got a few injuries that we’ve got to assess, but we will go there with what we’ve got.

“The players have given me everything and I’m delighted with them.”

Concord head to Gloucester having registered a 2-2 draw with Chelmsford City in an exciting local derby on Saturday.

As a result of none of the National League South’s top 10 sides picking up maximum points, the Beach Boys moved to within five points of the play-off spots.

And Moore wants his side to follow in the footsteps of another Essex club.

“There is no reason why we can’t push for the play-offs,” added Moore.

“We’re five points off the play-offs and that’s very doable. I’m happy with the situation we’re in.

“We saw Braintree Town sneak in at the last minute last year and, normally, the team chasing the play-offs who get in with one game to go end up getting promotion.”
