HARRY Wheeler is hoping Billericay Town will start another winning run when they visit Slough Town tomorrow.

Town have suffered back-to-back defeats - against East Thurrock United and Torquay United - after enjoying a six match unbeaten run.

And Wheeler is eager to return to winning ways this weekend.

“We went on a really good run before losing our last two games,” said the Billericay boss.

“The players have been brilliant since I came back to the club but we had a difficult game at the weekend and the lads are prepared.

“Hopefully we can go on another good run because, if we can do that, I think that will ensure we are in the play-offs come the end of the season.”

The reverse fixture took place less than two months ago, with Billericay running out 3-2 winners shortly after Wheeler’s return to the helm.

And Wheeler is aware that Slough, who are 12th in the standings, will be full of confidence after fighting back from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Concord Rangers last weekend.

“I had just come back when we played them in the reverse fixture and it wasn’t easy,” added Wheeler.

“They can’t go up or down, so they can play with freedom like they did against Concord.

“I want my players to express themselves as well as play with intensity.”
