SAMMY Moore has labelled this weekend’s clash with Torquay United as Concord Rangers’ cup final.
The Beach Boys welcome second-placed Torquay to the Aspect Arena for a mouth-watering National League South encounter on Saturday.
Concord have suffered just one home defeat all season and Moore has called on his players to keep the fine record intact by edging closer to the play-off places.
“It’s going to be a great game,” said the Beach Boys’ player-manager.
“We’ve put ourselves in a great position and we’re at home, where we’ve been in good form.
“We’ve got to be on the front foot and make sure that we approach the game with the right mentality.
“There is no reason why we can’t get three points.
“We’ll make sure the players are in the right frame of mind leading into Saturday and it’s going to be a massive game.
“There is going to be a big crowd and it’s our cup final.
“We’re three points off the play-offs, so we know that a win could result in us being in the play-off places.
“Teams will drop points because that’s what happens at this stage of the season.
“It’s about having that mental strength, bravery and desire to get them three points week in, week out.”
The Beach Boys head into the fixture having returned to winning ways with a 4-1 thumping of Hampton & Richmond Borough.
But Torquay have claimed two wins in south Essex - over East Thurrock United and Billericay Town - in the last month.
