SOUTHEND United manager Chris Powell is sweating on an ankle injury suffered by Simon Cox in this afternoon's 2-0 defeat at Peterborough United.
Cox, who has scored 16 goals so far this season, limped off during the second half at London Road.
But Powell does not yet know how the serious the injury setback will prove to be.
"Coxy was struggling in the first half," said Powell.
"He tried to carry on but he couldn’t.
"It’s too early to know how bad it is but hopefully it’s nothing serious."
Cox is currently Blues' only available senior striker with Tom Hopper and Stephen Humphrys out injured.
