TIM Monsheju has set his sights on securing promotion to the Isthmian North after joining Essex Senior League title chasers Hullbridge Sports.

Monsheju has made the move to the Ryan’s Heating Stadium on dual registration terms from Isthmian Premier League side Wingate & Finchley.

The attacker scored on his debut, after coming off the bench in the 2-0 win over Woodford Town on Friday, and the ex-Grays Athletic and Witham Town man is eager to make an impact when Hullbridge take on third-placed Saffron Walden Town tonight.

“The main thing about this season has been that I have not been scoring enough goals,” said Monsheju.

“It has been frustrating not scoring many goals because that is what I am known for, but hopefully I will be able to deliver in front of goal here.

“The main aim is to go up and we have a game in hand.

“I think we are just taking it one game at a time and we want to get a good run going.

“It was great for me to come into the side as a substitute and come off the bench to score on my debut.

“That has helped me and will obviously have an affect on my confidence.”

Hullbridge will move to the top of the Essex Senior League standings if they grab three points when Saffron Walden Town make the trip to the Ryan’s Heating Stadium.

The visitors also need to emerge victorious if they are to keep their title hopes alive.

And, although he is short of match fitness, Monsheju is keen to make his first home appearance since completing his move.

“My fitness isn’t there at the moment because I haven’t been playing for Wingate that much,” added the 24-year-old.

“But, once I have got my sharpness back, I will score goals and be able to make an impact.

“My goal is to get back to full fitness, score some goals and help Hullbridge to promotion.”

Tonight’s clash will also see boss Darren Manning return after serving his five-match stadium ban.

And Monsheju is pleased to be working with the former Grays assistant manager once again.

“I am very close friends with Darren,” admitted Monsheju.

“He got me my move to Grays Athletic before and he has been asking me to come to Hullbridge for quite some time now.

“Darren told me that if I was not getting game time for Wingate & Finchley then I should come to Hullbridge.

“I put the offer to the side for a while but then I thought this was the best time to make a change.

“Darren is very understanding and knows what he wants to achieve.

“Even when I was at Grays with him, he said just do your job and I will tell you if you need to do anything different.

“He just wants you to express yourself and I thrive when the manager is like that.”
