SOUTHEND United have announced free coach travel for Saturday’s crunch clash at Rochdale.

The Shrimpers moved out of the League One relegation zone with a 3-2 win against Burton Albion on Monday.

And, in a bid to secure a big away following, Blues chairman Ron Martin will now be paying for coach travel for fans.

A club statement said: The club are pleased to be offering complimentary coach travel to Saturday’s crucial game against Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena.

“After a superb Easter Monday victory against Burton Albion at Roots Hall, our penultimate game of the season sees us travel to Rochdale as Blues look for back-to-back wins.

“Your support on Monday was phenomenal, like it has been all season, and we need you more than ever in our quest for League One survival.

“As a goodwill gesture and to encourage as many Southend fans to get behind the team and show their support, free coach travel is available through the Shrimpers Trust as our official away travel partner.

“Please note that as a result of the free coach travel, the departure time from Roots Hall has been brought forward to 07:30am.”
