JERRY Omango believes Adam Peek is the right man to take Southend Manor forward.

Omango has completed his takeover of the Essex Senior League club.

And Manor boss Peek has received the new chairman’s backing.

Omango said: “Having met Adam, the first team manager, I feel he is the right man for the job.

“He will be in charge of all football matters.

“Adam will also help to build the club in terms of finances and the youth academy.”

Peek, who has been in charge at Southchurch Park since November 2017, led Manor to Essex Senior League safety last term.

Manor triumphed in five of their final eight outings to ensure they would finish in 17th place.

But Omango is keen to enjoy success away from the pitch as well as on it.

“We want to start hiring our clubhouse out for functions,” added Omango, who has replaced Steve Robinson as the club’s owner.

“We will be renovating the clubhouse at some stage and that will help to drive revenue.

“We’ll also be allowing all children under the age of 16 into our home games for free and we encourage parents to take this great offer up.

“Come and support the team as we, as a club, are looking to involve the community.

“We have never done this type of thing before, but we are serious about wanting to bring the community closer to the club.

“This is a new start for the club and I cannot wait to get started.”

And Omango hopes his takeover, along with Manor’s latest initiatives, will result in local businesses looking to link-up with the Essex Senior League club.

The 50-year-old admitted: “We are also looking for local people to sponsor the club.

“Sponsorship will really help to drive us forward.

“If you are interested in sponsoring the club, free tickets for your child, hiring our clubhouse or anything in general, we would love to hear from you.”
