BILLERICAY skipper Lee Knight felt his side shocked even some of their own members by beating Premier Division leaders Brentwood.
Billericay beat the table-toppers by one wicket.
And skipper Lee Knight was thrilled with the impressive win.
“We were very pleased with Saturday’s win and I think it helped that there wasn’t any pressure on us,” said Knight.
“Brentwood obviously were favourites and I think even some of our own club members expected us to get turned over so it was nice to prove them wrong, albeit narrowly!
“We bowled well as a unit and fielded much more like ourselves after a few poor weeks.”
Brentwood batted first and were bowled out for just 141 with Robert Raynor doing most of the damage with the ball for Billericay as he took 5-28.
In reply, Billericay made it home for the loss of nine wickets with Ross Poulton top scoring with 41 and Paul Walter hitting 37 at the start of the innings.
