ADALBERTO Pinto has become the latest Great Wakering Rovers signing after agreeing terms with the Isthmian North club.

Pinto, who counts Bowers & Pitsea among his former clubs, has sealed a return to Burroughs Park.

And Steve Butterworth is looking forward to working with the midfielder.

Butterworth, who was appointed as Wakering’s permanent player-manager in April, said: “Adalberto had a couple of offers but he lives near to the ground and he has played for the club before.

“The club has always been happy to survive in the Isthmian North and that didn’t originally appeal to him.

“But the side we have built excites him a little bit.

“He thinks this is the best Wakering side we have ever had and so he was keen to be a part of it.

“It’s great to bring someone of Adalberto’s experience to the club.”

Pinto joins Jack Stevenson, Alfie Hilton, Reece Conway, Teddy Nesbitt and Vinny Murphy in making the move to Burroughs Park this summer.

And Butterworth is pleased with the options he now has at his disposal after taking the number of summer signings up to six.

“We have strength in depth everywhere now,” added Butterworth, who originally took charge on an interim basis after Garry Kimble departed in January.

“If I manage to bring in another striker then we will have two or three players for every single position on the pitch.

“Adalberto will give me another option in the middle of the park and I’m more than happy with the midfield we have got.

“The quality we now have in midfield is up there with the best in the league because of the strength in depth.

“Hopefully we can go on and enjoy a successful season.”
