A HOST of former Premier League stars will be in action as Billericay Town get their pre-season programme underway on Sunday.

The National League South side’s first friendly of the summer will come in the form of a clash with some ex-top flight players and celebrities.

Paul Konchesky, who was on Town’s books for a nine-month spell in 2017 and also went onto play for East Thurrock United at the start of last term, will return to the AGP Arena for the star-studded friendly.

Jeremy Lynch, who also enjoyed a stint with Billericay, will play for the All-Star XI as well.

Lynch will compete just a matter of weeks after bagging both goals in England’s Soccer Aid clash with the Rest of the World at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge home.

Mark Wright, who also shone as England lost to the Rest of the World on penalties, will feature in the clash.

Former West Ham United stars Joe Cole, James Collins, Glen Johnson, Marlon Harewood, Bobby Zamora and Kevin Nolan are among the names who have confirmed they will compete for the All-Star XI.

Ex-Liverpool and Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy is set to be involved, along with Luke Guttridge.

Guttridge counts Southend United among his former clubs.

Meanwhile, Billericay’s quartet of summer signings are likely to play some part in the fixture.

Town’s first arrival following the climax of the campaign was Josh Urquhart, who has returned to the AGP Arena.

Urquhart was a key member of the squad which won the treble - after clinching the Isthmian Premier League title along with the Essex Senior Cup and Isthmian League Cup - in 2018.

Jordan Parkes has also sealed his switch to Billericay after his surprise release by divisional rivals Hemel Hempstead Town, who are now managed by former Concord Rangers player-manager Sammy Moore.

Ronnie Henry is now among Billericay boss Harry Wheeler’s options following his switch from League Two side Stevenage.

And Ben Nunn is set to feature after agreeing to join following his decision to leave National League outfit Dagenham & Redbridge.
