BASILDON United assistant manager Danny Kerrigan feels Histon will be challenging for promotion from the Isthmian North this term.
The two sides will go head-to-head at the Cousins Car Wash Stadium tomorrow.
And Kerrigan feels the Bees will need to be at their best if they are to return to winning ways.
“Histon are a very strong and physical side,” said Kerrigan.
“When the league announced that Histon would be coming into the Isthmian North this season, they were the surprise package.
“They were in the National League not too long ago, so they have a good history.
“Histon are one of the favourites to win the league, so it will be a tough test.
“But we have made a promising start to the season despite three of our first four games being against teams predicted to be in the top eight.
“It’s been a difficult start, but we have been encouraged.”
Basildon have showcased their capabilities in front of goal by scoring 14 goals in their last three outings.
But they will be keen to bounce back from the 3-1 defeat at Grays Athletic last time out.
