MICHAEL Walther has signed Joshua Blackburn ahead of his first home match in charge of Southend Manor.

Walther, who got his reign off to a winning start at Cockfosters last weekend, will welcome Ilford to Southchurch Park tomorrow.

And the newly-appointed boss has secured the services of goalkeeper Blackburn following Jacob Adams’ departure.

“Jacob has been absolutely superb for us this season,” said Walther.

“But he is going to university, so I was looking for a new goalkeeper.

“It will be my first home game as the club’s manager and I am looking forward to it.

“I am trying to create a good environment.”

Walther’s Manor are currently two points adrift of 13th-placed Ilford in the Essex Senior League standings.
