CANVEY Island boss Mark Bentley is undecided as to how to set his side up at AFC Sudbury tomorrow.

The Gulls will make the trip for an Isthmian North encounter having recorded an FA Trophy first qualifying round replay win over Chipstead in midweek.

And, having seen his side excel in a new formation, Bentley is unsure as to whether he will set Canvey up in the same style.

Bentley said: “We want to try and play football the right way.

“It’s our aim to get the ball down and play.

“We changed our formation in midweek and I think that worked well.

“I don’t know whether we will decide to go with that formation every week, but I now know that we can change between formations during games if needed.

“That is another positive for the squad.”

The Gulls have been involved in just one Isthmian North outing over the course of the last month.

And, as a result, Bentley is keen to pick up points at Sudbury this weekend.

“Missing out on a league game with Brentwood Town because of our replay in midweek was a bit disappointing, but we won so the momentum is still being built,” added Bentley.

“We are a work in progress but, with league games few and far between, we need points.”
