GLEN Kendall has been appointed as Basildon United’s new head coach.
The Bees had been searching for a new boss after John Sussex’s resignation at the weekend.
And, just a matter of hours after the Isthmian North side overcame Aveley in the third round of the Essex Senior Cup, Kendall’s appointment has been confirmed.
During his playing career, Kendall experienced semi-professional football in England before going onto enjoy professional stints in Poland and Thailand.
Kendall started his managerial career in 2014, in Thailand, before returning to England to lead Leyton Athletic in the Essex Senior League.
A stint in charge of Clapton has also followed, along with an assistant manager role at Newbury Forest.
Kendall’s first match as Basildon’s new chief will come this weekend, with the Bees welcoming Isthmian Premier League high-flyers Hornchurch to the Cousins Car Wash Stadium for an FA Trophy second round tie on Saturday.
