ROB Small insists he will not rush into bringing new players to Bowers & Pitsea.
Bowers are just one point above the Isthmian Premier League drop zone following their Isthmian North title win last term.
And, while he is looking to freshen up his squad, Small is taking his time.
“I think we need to bring players in but we have to pick carefully,” said the Bowers chief.
“Recruitment is difficult because we don’t have the resources other clubs at our level have.
“Most players in this division will be further up the table and not looking at us as a possibility to join.
“It takes time to find the right players to bring in and we are evolving.
“I think it’s a balancing act between short-term pain and long-term gain because I want to bring players in who will be here for years, not a matter of weeks.
“At the same time, I still believe in the players we have and I don’t want to push the panic button.”
Tonight's scheduled Isthmian Premier League clash against Corinthian-Casuals has been postponed due to floodlight failure at the Len Salmon Stadium
