SOUTHEND United’s fans have their say on Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Rotherham United.

Actually a little frustrated we didn’t get all three. We played reasonably well, showed fight throughout but Rotherham were there for the taking.

Nice to come away from Roots Hall feeling positive about a result and performance. Players gave everything and deserved a point without a doubt. Considering the talk before about him, I actually thought Lennon had a decent game, as did Dieng and Demetriou. Important games coming now!

@samgoody23

We did not deserve to be one down at the break, even though it was a dull first half. Showed great fight in second half, with Mantom taking his goal well. Lennon, despite some boos, had a great game. Let’s build on the point and go to Bolton all out for the win.

@robertaskew7

Much improved especially in the second half. Back four looked more solid than the wing back system, thought Harry Lennon did well despite the moronic booing from certain quarters. Hutch bought a much needed creative spark when he came on. Onwards and upwards, keep learning from Sol.

@Kaylalula

Good point- nice to see us not lose. Sol has found the right blend in midfield and performances are slowly picking up because of it. Mantom’s goal was sublime, the touch and finish was perfection. When he’s running beyond supporting the strikers he’s our best midfielder

@Ljarvis27

For me, at last, we actually stood toe to toe with the opponent. We competed well and were never out of the game. Still some sloppy passing but we do look a little fitter and we definitely demonstrated much improved attitude and application.

@PeterRMiles

Was nice to see a battle for once. We showed some fight and didn’t get humiliated. Not perfect but much better. Mantom and JD ran their socks off all game and deserved their goals. Dieng solid. Sorely miss Hopper up top. Humphrys non existent when alone, Cox plays role better.

@SearchTerry

First time in ages I’ve come away from a game having thoroughly enjoyed it. If it wasn’t for last week’s second half disaster we’d be on a three game unbeaten run. Sol is starting to make an impact.

Lennon, Demetriou, Mantom and Goodship were absolutely excellent. However we have to be more clinical, should’ve put the game to bed but sloppy play cost us. Vital next five games need at least double figures out of the possible 15.
