CONCORD Rangers are set to welcome Bath City or Sholing to the Aspect Arena in the second round of the FA Trophy.

The Beach Boys equalled their best ever run in the competition by coming from two goals down to seal a 3-2 victory over National League South rivals Maidstone United on Saturday.

And boss Danny Scopes hopes his side will make history by progressing to the third round of the FA Trophy for the first time in the club's history.

“I was really proud of the win at Maidstone and getting into the next round," said Scopes, who is enjoying his first campaign back at the helm after previous success with Danny Cowley.

“I’m pleased the most for the football club and all the hardworking people behind the scenes that work hard to make the club what it is.

“Without them, it would be impossible to have any success.

“I want to keep trying to win games and give the supporters and backroom staff something to be proud of.

“I want to reward them all for their priceless time and efforts.”

Bath, who ply their trade alongside Concord in the second tier of non-league football, and Isthmian Southern South outfit Sholing will do battle in their first round tie at Twerton Park tomorrow.

And the prize for the winners of the clash is a journey to the Aspect Arena.

The tie will take place on January 11.

Should Concord triumph in the second round clash, they will collect £5,250 from the competition prize fund.

The defeated side will also pick up £1,750.
