BILLERICAY Town and Concord Rangers’ scheduled New Year’s Day derby has been postponed due to an unplayable pitch.

The two sides were due to get 2020 underway by going head-to-head at New Lodge.

But the match referee decided the fixture would not go ahead following a pitch inspection.

It was confirmed the referee deemed parts of the New Lodge surface unplayable.

The postponement was only announced an hour and 20 minutes before the scheduled kick-off time.

A new date for the derby will be announced in due course.
