DANNY Scopes insists Concord Rangers cannot afford to get carried away after registering six consecutive wins.

The Beach Boys will welcome Hampton & Richmond Borough to the Aspect Arena tomorrow.

And, although his side have not dropped a point since November, Scopes has warned Concord cannot be complacent against their 13th-placed visitors.

“If someone had said to us we would finish 2019 the way we did and we would be where we are in the league and cups, I would have taken that,” said the Beach Boys’ boss.

“But it’s important that we don’t get carried away and we have to keep our feet on the ground.

“We need to perform the same or better than we have done in recent weeks if we want to continue climbing the table.

“People will say how can you improve on six wins out of six, but we suffered six defeats in a row from September into October so we know how quickly your form can change.

“That poor run will allow us to stay humble in this current vein of form.”

Concord are currently ninth in the standings and they will feature in their first fixture of 2020 after their New Year’s Day derby at Billericay Town was postponed due to an unplayable pitch.

Although Hampton started the new year with a 3-0 defeat to Dulwich Hamlet, Scopes believes they were unfortunate

“I went to their game after our game at Billericay was called off,” added Scopes.

“They were hit twice on the counter-attack and conceded late.”
