BASILDON United have parted company with interim manager Kris Newby by mutual consent.
Newby took over in the dugout at the turn of the year, with his first match in charge ending in a thumping 4-2 win over Grays Athletic.
But Newby’s reign came to an end after yesterday’s goalless draw with Coggeshall Town.
A club statement read: “The club have this morning parted ways with interim manager Kris Newby by mutual consent.
“We would like to thank Kris and his management team for their hard work during their time in charge.”
And Newby took to social media to confirm he enjoyed his brief stint at the helm.
Newby tweeted: “Well it was nice while it lasted and gave me an insight into what it takes and what needs to be done by a manager behind the scenes.
“The lads have been amazing and I can’t thank them enough for backing me.
“But it is all change at the club. I wish Basildon United all the best.”
