ROB Small admits it will be ‘bizarre’ for Bowers & Pitsea to do battle with Corinthian-Casuals twice in the space of three days.
Bowers will make the trip to King George’s Field for an Isthmian Premier League clash tomorrow, with the hosts second-from-bottom and Small’s side 17th in the standings.
And the Bowers boss feels the next two fixtures could be crucial as both sides look to avoid relegation this term.
“It’s a bit weird because we are playing Corinthian-Casuals this weekend and on Tuesday, which is bizarre,” said Small.
“That means there is an interesting dynamic.
“We are a bottom six team and so are they, so it’s important that we try to pick up points.
“They are much better than their league position suggests.”
Small celebrated 300 matches in charge of Bowers last weekend.
In that time, Small has led Bowers from the Essex Senior League to the Isthmian Premier League for the first time in the club’s history.
However, a late Cray Wanderers winner meant Small was unable to celebrate in style.
“It was a nice occasion for me and my family were there, which was great,” added Small.
“A few of the guys at the club put a nice picture together for me and that will take pride of place in the house.
“But, for me, it was just another game I wanted to win.
“I don’t think I had taken in the magnitude of the achievement until everyone talked to me about reaching 300 games.
“It was a nice occasion, but I would preferred to have won the game and now we are looking to bounce back.”
