BOWERS & Pitsea, Canvey Island and Hullbridge Sports will be vying for three points tonight.

Rob Small’s Bowers are set to welcome Carshalton Athletic to the Len Salmon Stadium for an Isthmian Premier League clash.

Bowers, who are enjoying their first ever campaign in the third tier of non-league football, go into the meeting nine points clear of the bottom two.

And Bowers will be looking to register a first victory in five outings.

Bowers were made to settle for a point when an 88th minute leveller from Anthony McDonald allowed Haringey Borough to seal a 1-1 draw at the weekend.

However, Bowers will face a tough task against a Carshalton side who are just one point adrift of the play-off places.

Meanwhile, Canvey will be looking to edge closer to a top five slot in the Isthmian North when they do battle with Maldon & Tiptree at Park Lane.

The Gulls are separated from the play-offs by just three points but have a significantly worse goal difference than those around them.

Mark Bentley’s side were without a fixture at the weekend after their scheduled meeting with Brentwood Town was postponed just half-an-hour before kick-off on Friday.

Maldon, who have suffered just one Isthmian North defeat and reached the second round of the FA Cup this term, recorded a thumping 6-2 victory over strugglers Felixstowe & Walton United.

And the Jammers will head to Canvey having condemned the Gulls to a resounding 5-0 defeat in the reverse fixture.

Hullbridge are due to make the journey to Isthmian North table-toppers Heybridge Swifts.

Like Canvey, Sports were without a fixture at the weekend as their home clash with Tilbury was called off.

Hullbridge, who are in the fourth tier of non-league football for the first time in the club’s history, find themselves 18 points clear of the relegation zone.
