HULLBRIDGE Sports and Canvey Island are vying for Isthmian North points tonight.

Sports will be involved in a home encounter, although the fixture with Dereham Town will not take place at the Ryan’s Heating Stadium.

Due to problems with Hullbridge’s home pitch, the clash has been moved to Bowers & Pitsea’s Len Salmon Stadium.

And Hullbridge will be hoping for a better result than when they last hosted a clash on Bowers’ artificial surface.

Sports took on Cambridge City seven days ago and suffered a harrowing 5-0 defeat.

But, since then, Hullbridge have ended their four-match losing streak.

Sports scored a last-gasp equaliser to seal a 2-2 draw at Bury Town.

The stalemate allowed Hullbridge, who are enjoying their first ever campaign in the fourth tier of non-league football, to move seven points clear of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Canvey are due to make the journey to Felixstowe & Walton United.

The Gulls saw their hopes of making a late charge for a play-off place surely ended as they were condemned to a 2-0 derby defeat by Great Wakering Rovers.

Goals from Billy Johnson and former Canvey frontman Martin Tuohy resulted in Mark Bentley’s side falling 11 points adrift of the top five.

Felixstowe will be full of confidence, despite being at the wrong end of the Isthmian North table, ahead of tonight’s clash.

A 2-1 win over Grays Athletic, thanks to two late goals, allowed Felixstowe to leapfrog Basildon United into 18th place.
