FORMER East Thurrock manager John Coventry has joined the management team at Aveley.

Coventry’s 13 year spell in charge of the Rocks finished at the end of last season.

And he is now looking forward to a new challenge.

"I am delighted to join what I believe is a forward-thinking club aiming for promotion,” Coventry told the club’s official website.

“I'm looking forward to working with everyone at Aveley when this current issue has passed."

Coventry will work alongside manager Keith Rowland.

And the former West Ham United defender is pleased to have welcomed Coventry on board.

"When someone with the experience of John Coventry becomes available and wants to come and join the club then you just welcome them with open arms,” said Rowland.

“We cannot wait for him to work with us and bring his vast experience to the football club."
