FIT-AGAIN Tom Clifford is certain Southend United will soon start bouncing back from a difficult start to the season.
Blues have kicked off the campaign with four successive defeats.
But Clifford, who came back from a thigh problem to feature at Carlisle United on Saturday, feels there is no cause for alarm.
“I’m sure we will bounce back from a tough start,” said Clifford.
“Obviously the manager’s come in and lifted the mood and it’s a good environment now.
“We definitely have the quality to win games in this League and I’m sure we will.”
Clifford is also keen to help make that happen having been forced to miss the first three games with an injury he picked up in pre-season.
“It was brilliant to be back out there after a few weeks out,” said Clifford.
“I had a strain in my quad which I did in the friendly at Charlton, but now it’s all good now and I just need to make sure I manage it.”
Clifford played the final 19 minutes against Carlisle and is now looking to find the form he showed at the end of last season when he started the final eight games.
“I want to play as many games as I can and try to help the team win as many games as we can too,” said the 21-year-old.
“I actually thought we started well against Carlisle but we were just missing a bit of quality and we just need to make sure our heads don’t drop when someone scores against us too.”
