JOHN White and Simeon Akinola are both expected to return to full training for Southend United next week.
White has missed Blues' last eight games with a hamstring problem while Akinola has not featured since signing in September due to a thigh injury.
But Shrimpers boss Mark Molesley is hopeful the duo will be back with the squad in the next few days and feels Alan McCormack is not far behind.
"John White and Sim Akinola are both back outside and they’re doing plenty of work," said Molesley.
"They’re working hard and we’re hoping, fingers crossed, to welcome them back into the group sometime next week.
"Alan also is picking up and he’s probably a couple of days behind them at the moment."
McCormack, who has been suffering with a calf problem, has just just one appearance since signing for Blues in September
