THE FA Cup fourth qualifying round takes centre stage this weekend, reports Leon Imber.

Concord Rangers host fellow National League South side Chippenham Town.

The visitors have only lost one game in all competitions so far this season and will pose a large threat for Danny Scopes’ men, who suffered a 1-0 defeat in their last match.

Hemel Hempstead’s involvement in the competition sees their league fixture against Billericay Town postponed with Jamie O’Hara’s men knocked out of the cup.

There is also a break in the weekend’s action for Bowers and Pitsea as Bishop’s Stortford, who were to be their opponents, are occupied by a cup tie against St Albans.

Meanwhile, Canvey Island welcome Cray Wanderers, who are the Gulls’ toughest opponents yet in the competition.

Wanderers have picked up 12 points from six matches so far in the Isthmian Premier Division, a league higher than which Canvey compete in but Mark Bentley will be hoping an upset is in order.

Elsewhere, league action continues for East Thurrock United who picked up their first win of the season midweek.

Worthing travel to Rookery Hill, buoyed by their recent form winning four from their last five matches.

‘The Rebels’ sit top of the table in the early standings and have scored 17 goals so far this season, more than any other side in the division.

Isthmian North action sees Hullbridge Sports back in action as they take on Felixstowe & Walton.

Darren Manning’s men started the season brightly but have fallen short in their recent performances, losing two on the bounce.

Basildon United and Great Wakering Rovers play out fixtures against Heybridge Swifts and Histon respectively.

Great Wakering currently sit third in the standings with this weekend’s opponents just one place below them.

In the Essex Senior League, Southend Manor make the short journey to the Len Salmon stadium for their match against the dominant Hashtag United.

The Tags currently sit at the top of the table.
