ISTHMIAN North Division and Essex Senior League sides are in action this week, reports Leon Imber.

Monday night’s fixture list sees Hashtag United host Hoddesdon Town, as the Tags will be looking to add to their six-match unbeaten run.

Jay Devereux’s men took a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Southend Manor last time out.

Manor themselves take on Takeley in a clash that could see the latter leapfrog them in the standings.

Interestingly, despite sitting sixth in the table, Manor have a poor goal difference with eight more goals conceded than scored.

In the Isthmian North division, two Essex sides face off with Basildon United hosting Canvey Island on Tuesday night.

Mark Bentley’s Canvey will be full of confidence after defeating Cray Wanderers at the weekend to enter the FA Cup first round draw.

But it is yet to be seen as to whether their cup run could distract from league performances, which Basildon will be hoping for.

United have taken a point from their last two games.

Meanwhile, Hullbridge Sports welcome Dereham Town to Lower Road in hope they can arrest their poor form.

The hosts have lost all of their last three matches, killing any momentum they had from their positive results at the beginning of the season.

Lastly, Great Wakering Rovers travel to Grays Athletic on Wednesday evening.

Stephen Butterworth’s side have scored six goals in their last two outings, but have only picked up a point in the process.

It’s clear to see where Great Wakering are succeeding and where they are letting themselves down.

They have been challenging in the top half this season and will need to recover their defensive frailties if they are to form any kind of real push.
