SOUTHEND United remain under a transfer embargo, Echosport understands.
Blues paid off an outstanding debt, of close to £500,000, to the HMRC earlier this week but it is understood transfer restrictions still remain in place.
Yet Shrimpers boss Mark Molesley did not give much away when asked about the situation by Echosport.
“We’ve always managed to bring players in since I’ve been here," said Molesley.
“What I can say is that we with the injuries we’re waiting on and what not we actually have a very, very big squad.
“We’ve just been unfortunate with the injuries we haven’t had it fully available.
“We’re waiting on three very big players to come back and they’re not far away.
“But we will always look to add value when the right person comes along.
“We’re building something here though and we have to make sure we bring the people in.”
However, Molesley is looking to kick on after the club’s debt was paid.
“It was always on the cards it was going to be (paid),” said Molesley.
“We just focus on the football and the processes we put in place out on the pitch.
“But hopefully now that’s been put to bed we can move on.”
