THE Halloween weekend looks to be a thriller for non-league sides, with plenty of league and trophy action due, reports Leon Imber.

The National League South schedule gives another opportunity to Billericay Town to get their first win of the season as they host Ebbsfleet United at New Lodge.

In the three games played so far this campaign, Jamie O’Hara’s side have conceded six and scored just once.

Meanwhile, Concord Rangers have enjoyed a slightly better start to the season having great FA Cup success, but they are also still in search of their first league victory.

They visit Maidstone this weekend who lost to Chelmsford last time out, but are still sit six points above Danny Scopes’ side going into the match.

FA Trophy action means that no Isthmian Premier Division matches will be played this weekend, as Bowers and Pitsea face Hornchurch while East Thurrock United host Cheshunt.

It will be Bowers’ first game in three weeks and falls just over a month after they previously played Hornchurch in the FA Cup, in which they lost 3-0.

East Thurrock, the hosts, will have their work cut out for them as their opponents sit second in the Isthmian Premier standings.

Elsewhere, Canvey Island visit Cambridge City in the Isthmian North Division with a good run of form behind them.

Mark Bentley will be delighted with his side’s recent performances and will be expecting more of the same this weekend.

At the other end of the scale, Hullbridge Sports have endured a miserable run of form which Darren Manning will be keen to arrest sooner rather than later, and he has an opportunity to do so as his team host Histon.

In the Essex Senior League, Southend Manor host Redbridge, just four days after being trounced 7-0 by Takeley.

Inconsistency has been an issue for Manor this season and they have been on the wrong end of a few heavy defeats, they will no doubt be up for this match though, to right the wrongs of their midweek thumping.

Lastly, Hashtag United have a Sunday fixture away at Coggeshall United.

The Tags are the ones to beat this season, having already accumulated 28 points from 11 matches.
