INTERIM boss Dan Brown felt Billericay Town were overrun by Oxford City in their 3-1 defeat at New Lodge last night.

Billericay have now suffered two home setbacks in the space of five days.

And Brown was left feeling frustrated at the final whistle as his side let slip a one goal lead.

“In the first half, halfway through, Oxford grew into it,” said Brown.

“For me that’s what a fit football team looks like.

“We started good and got a good goal.

“We got in good areas and had opportunities but they overran us.

“They were very powerful and relentless.

“We couldn’t compete.

“When they started they were quite direct and it suited us.

“I think they quickly realised that wasn’t the way to go.

“They stepped it up a gear.

“They moved the ball and pulled us all over the place.

“It was a good performance by them.”

Luke Wanadio put Billericay ahead in the first half before Oxford hit back after the break with James Roberts bagging a brace after Zac McEachran had equalised.

Billericay are now 17th in the standings.
