CONCORD Rangers slipped to the foot of the National League South table as fellow strugglers Weymouth breezed to a 5-0 victory at the Aspect Arena.

It didn't take long for the visitors to open the scoring when with 16 minutes on the clock Weymouth's top scorer Brad Ash scored his first goal since January.

Former Southend United full back Harry Kyprianou whipped a cross into the Concord area and Ash converted with a glancing header into the far corner.

Weymouth continued to threaten with Mitchell Beeney being forced into making a fine save to tip over a Tom Blair free kick that was destined for the top corner.

Then just past the half hour mark Kyprianou turned from provider to scorer to double the Terras' lead.

A Blair corner was headed goalwards by former Beach Boy Tom Carlyle, the home defence were able to block the defender's effort but Kyprianou was on hand to scramble home from close range.

Neither of these goals proved a wake up call for Concord and with four minutes left of the first half Weymouth got a third goal.

A Harvey Slade cross picked out Blair at the back post and the 23-year-old lashed the ball beyond Beeney for his second goal against Concord this season.

Things then went from bad to worse for Concord as in first half stoppage time Bobby Wilkinson's side made it 4-0 with Ahkeem Rose scoring on his 50th appearance for the club.

Blair was once again involved with the former Eastleigh man delivering a deep corner to the far post that found Rose and the unmarked Jamaican headed home for his 11th goal of the campaign.

The second half started as the first had finished with Weymouth making it 5-0 just four minutes after the restart.

Blair saw his shot blocked by Beeney but Ash was on hand to tap home the loose ball from close range for his 14th of the season and his second of the afternoon to seal a dominant victory for the men from Dorset.

Defeat for Concord means the Beach Boys are now five games without a win on home turf.

This defeat twinned with Cheshunt beating Eastbourne Borough means Rangers are now four points from safety - but Concord do have four games in hand.

A first away victory since December sees Weymouth leapfrog Concord in the table, up to 22nd, as their four game winless run comes to an end thanks to a second 5-0 away win of the season.

Rob Small's men return to action on Tuesday night as Concord entertain Isthmian Premier Division promotion hopefuls Hornchurch in the semi-finals of the BBC Essex Senior Cup.
