BOWERS and Pitsea saw off Felixstowe & Walton United in dramatic fashion to set up an Isthmian North play-off final with Brentwood Town.

Bowers triumphed 4-2 on penalties on Tuesday night after the semi-final tie had ended 2-2 after extra time.

And Bowers hero Benas Vaivada, who netted his side's second goal in the clash, is now eager to finish off the job and make sure of a place in next season's Isthmian Premier League.

"We are all very excited for the final now," said Vaivada.

"We know the job is not done and Brentwood are going to bring another challenge that we are willing to accept.

"It's going to be a great game and we are going to do everything we can to win."

However, Bowers will head into the clash at their Len Salmon Stadium on a high after an eventful encounter.

TQ Addy put Bowers in front after 18 minutes, only for Joshua Mayhew to equalise two minutes into first half stoppage time Vaivada put Bowers back ahead in the 78h minute but Felixstowe levelled things up late on with Joshua Hitter scoring an injury time equaliser to take the tie to extra time.

The two teams could not be separated during the additional 30 minutes but it was Bowers who advanced on spot-kicks.

And Vaivada was aways confident of success from 12 yards, due to the excellence of Bowers goalkeeper David Hughes.

"To be honest with you we knew if we scored our penalties then Hughesy would win us this game as Ive seen it before," said Vaivada.

"We had practised penalties in our previous training session so we were confident in our takers as we was taking them against Hughesy too!"

Vaivada, Geofrey Okonkwo, Olly Sotoyinbo and Ben Williamson all scored from the spot for Bowers.

And Vaivada felt it was a fixture which had everything.

"I think it was a very good game and everything you'd expect from a knockout fixture," said Vaivada.

"We had the lead twice and conceded late in the half both times which was frustrating but we never dropped our heads.

"Both teams were doing anything and everything to not lose the game but we cancelled each other out all the way to penalties."

However, Bowers still made it through and did not let their heads drop following Felixstowe's painful late leveller.

"It was very frustrating to concede late but from even before the game we strongly believed we would win this game," said Vaivada.

"We spoke about even if we were to go down, we would not put our heads down because we always have a goal in us.

"The management team kept repeating “believe” and put a lot of confidence in us before the game as we didn’t get here by luck."
