Ryman One North: Rocks got their promotion campaign firmly back on track with this convincing victory against Forest’s enthusiastic but outclassed youngsters.

East Thurrock took the lead on 20 minutes, Elliot slotted home from close range after a free kick.

Rocks took command of the game on 31 minutes when Kris Newby squared the ball for Kurt Smith to put the ball into an unguarded net.

Six minutes later Smith returned the compliment as Newby drilled the ball home under the body of diving keeper Elliot Justham.

Rocks rounded off the half with a fine free kick from Max Cornhill in added time, the home midfielder picking his spot to guide his freekick around the wall and just inside Justham’s near post.

The hosts lost Smith, who felt unwell at half-time, and brought on Jo Bajowa.

But the change and a lengthy delay for an injury to a Forest player hit Rocks’ momemtum and they could only add one more goal, when Bajowa nodded home a Ben Boyce’s corner.
