SOUTHEND United have taken Waide Fairhurst on loan from Doncaster Rovers for a month.
The 21-year-old striker bagged five goals in 10 starts on loan at Shrewsbury Town last season.
He has also made 12 appearances for the Doncaster first team, scoring two goals.
The paperwork for his loan switch to Roots Hall will be completed today.
And manager Paul Sturrock is pleased to have signed the striker.
"We don't know how long Barry Corr and Blair (Sturrock) are going to be out for so we didn't want to be short of strikers," said Sturrock.
"We've watched Waide and seen him on the television too so we will now be having a look at him for a month."
