JACK Midson wants to maintain top form when Southend United host Wycombe Wanderers this weekend.

The on-loan Oxford United striker made a disappointing start to his loan spell at Roots Hall and failed to score in his first six games.

But he bagged a brace at Cheltenham Town on Tuesday night and now has his sights set on the Chairboys.

“I hadn’t found my form for Southend but it was great to get a couple of goals at Cheltenham and, if I’m picked again on Saturday, hopefully I can do the same against Wycombe,” said Midson, 27.

“I never give up and always give 100 per cent in whatever I do. I think if you work hard you get your rewards and that’s what happened at Cheltenham for me.

“You do maybe worry slightly in the back of your mind that it might not work out but getting the two goals has been good for my confidence and I’m looking forward to Saturday now.”
