RAYLEIGH’s Clive Harwood landed a new personal best 26lb common on the first anniversary of his nan’s death.
Harwood was fishing at his regular Totham Pit lake in Maldon, where he is a bailiff and, within hours of setting up, he caught the fish.
He was kept awake for the majority of the night by his rods bleeping on and off and he caught five bream that night.
He ended the 24-hour session by landing a 24lb common.
Harwood is reluctant to share the secret of his catch, but will say they were caught using Nash Baits.
