ADAM Melvin enjoyed a last trip to the lake with his dad Andy before going back to school after the summer break.

Adam landed a very respectable 14lb of roach bream and perch while his dad landed mirrors of 18, 16, 13 and 14lb. They bivvied up for 24 hours on the top end of the north bank.

Del Smee demonstrated once again that pole tactics will produce 70lb of mixed fish in just a morning.

Jay Fisher managed a 16lb mirror from the south bank, and David Cook from Shoebury landed a 16lb mirror from the north side.

Ross Quinn, from Shoebury, fished a night on the north side and landed three good mirrors to 20lb.

Quinn’s friend Joe Clark also banked a 20lb fish.

Jamie Campion fished a night on the south bank where he banked an 18lb mirror, but managed to loose a much bigger fish at the net.

Bill Lamb managed to break a run of poor results by landing a 22lb mirror on his first cast on his first rod during a lengthy session. The stalkers have been in action again with Ian Simmons banking a mid double mirror, and Anthony Gull had fish of 18 and 21lb which produced a fabulous battle from a tight corner on the south bank.

The happiest angler of the week was Gary Madison, from Shoebury, who has put on a brave face for the last seven trips while watching his fishing companion catch carp after carp.

But this week it was his turn to cheer as, in his last two casts in the last hour of a two-day session, he landed fish of 16 and 17lb.
