LUCAS Neill is going nowhere.

The West Ham United captain is adamant that his future lies at Upton Park, despite speculation linking him with a move away from the club.

The Australian’s £60,000-a-week wages and indifferent form last season raised suggestions of Neill heading to Turkish giants Galatasary or linking up with former Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes at Manchester City.

But the 30-year-old has dismissed the rumours and stated his determination to win over his doubters.

“I’ve not said anything. All the speculation has come from various sources, but I am a West Ham player with a West Ham contract and that is the start and finish of it,” he said.

Neill was the first to admit that he struggled for form in 2007/08, but the Socceroo claimed things will be very different this time around.

The defender came into the season having not had an extended break for more than two years after appearing at the 2006 World Cup and 2007 Asia Cup, and looked jaded for long periods of a frustrating campaign.

“Last year I didn’t have a proper season and, as a result I couldn’t lay any proper fitness foundations,” Neill, who became a said.

“Now, I’ve had three-or-four weeks of training already and I feel great, so from me there will be big improvements.

“Like many people, I’ve still got lots to prove at West Ham and I’m looking forward to it.”

Neill’s struggles last term contrasted with his inspirational displays as the Irons escaped relegation on the final day of 2006/07, and the full-back is desperate to re-discover that form this time around.

“Hopefully I can show the sort of form from when I first came,” Neill, who arrived from Blackburn for £1.5million in January 2007, added.

The skipper has made 52 appearances for the Hammers, but is yet to score for the club.

l IPSWICH Town have signed West Ham United goalkeeper Richard Wright on a two-year deal, with the option of a third year available.

The England international stopper began his career with the Championship side, making 291 appearances before joining Arsenal and Everton and heading for Upton Park on a free transfer a year ago, playing in three Carling Cup fixtures.

Ipswich-born Wright, 30, has one England cap and has joined the Tractor Boys for an undisclosed fee.
